Anyone have problems with ingrown toenails and have had their big toenails removed yet and made so they won’t grow back? Thinking of doing this. Already had the sides of each toenail shaved off several times by the Doc and keeps growing back ingrown.

I have had both big toes nails remove and second digit over on right foot. The first one grow back but only about a 1/4 of the nail. The other two are gone and have no problems with them. Once and awhile the grand kids may hit them and it hurts for a few minutes. I would do it again because the pain is a lot more with ingrown nails. The one that cost the most is the one that grow back. It was from a big foot Doc shop. I was off work for 3 days and the second two he pulled them and I was back to work the next day. That’s the way to do it!!!
Good luck on what ever you do.
    a shot to num it.
    pull the nail.
acid wipe down at the root of the nail.
    oiment and a Band-Aid.
    Good to go!!!

Cripes, man up and slice it trim it and repeat. It will go away. No wonder healthcare is sky rocketing. Took me 2 times doing this and it did not cost me a thing. Ya gotta dig into it to correct it..
Sometimes doctor’s do not know best. I degloved a finger and the the doc said we can save it if not we will go back later to repair it. I said no, take it off. Well, $6000 later I have a hook fingernail that catches everything and gets torn off time to time. To repair it $11,000.

I USED to have a non stop ingrown toenails on both big toes. I don’t have any complete nails removed, but on both of the big toes I’ve had half of the nail completely removed on the sides that always got in grown, so half the nail won’t grow back. I’ve had zero issues since then. I’ve also started keeping the nails a little longer. Used to have literally non-stop ingrown nails and it was horrible, I feel like I haven’t had one in at least 8 years now since doing that.
