Inflatable life jacket usage advice

My automatic inflatable life vest says do not use in freezing temps. So can I take that as don’t use it when there’s still ice breaking up on the lake but I’m using the boat anyway say 40 degrees out? Does the Co2 freeze?. I was reading up on this and wondering If I should buy a couple of regular vests until it warms up. What do you guys that duck hunt or fish the river now or soon use? Bottom line want to be safe. Should I get the mesh style or just some regular vests I would use for 2-3 weeks till it warms up.

I will admit I do not wear a pfd enough. But if it’s below freezing and I’m flying around I put on a regular old version life jacket. And always have 2 or 3 in my boat at all time

I wear a Coast Guard approved float coat for my cold weather boat and even ice fishing early and late.
