Took my 5th wheel in for some roof caulking repair and had one of those experiences you hear about. They used the wrong product and a5 year old could have laid a better bead.

Frustrating. Whenever possible, I YouTube the heck out of things and do them myself. Most often times saving money and KNOWING it was done correctly. It can be disheartening knowing the ineptitude of a lot of these businesses and the product they let leave their shops.

The very reason I do 99% of my own work. I have a hard time trusting people.

Not so much I don’t trust people as I don’t trust the quality of some peoples work. Seems so many just don’t care.

That’s a pretty ballsy move. With the current situation closing most parks to camping. You’d think a place that works on RVs and campers would appreciate the business and make damn sure they did it perfect. These are not the times to build a bad reputation. Most businesses don’t survive long with a bad rep in the best of times.

The insult to injury was the fact that I waited 3 weeks after having an appointment for this crap job.

Are they gonna make it right with you?

When the manager told me that he used the wrong product because they didn’t have the right product in the right color, I thought it best to go pick it up and do it myself. They offered to put the right product on but after seeing the quality of the work, it didn’t make me feel any better. The first picture is me pulling the silicone off in 4′ – 5′ sections that never adhered to the roof. There were breaks in the beads that left sections with no caulk at all. Literally the worst quality of work that I have ever seen from a commercial business.

From what I see, not only is it a sloppy application, the surface appears to be dirty. Even the best laid bead is not going to stick to a dirty surface. Surface prep is critical for this application.

I sure as heck hope you didnt pay a dime for that crap job !!!!!!
I would turn it into my insurance company and let them deal with the legal costs as well as paying for it to be done right.

Look,I am far from perfect and I have no problem admitting that, but how in the hell does anyone in business let that kind of crap go!!??
Judas Priest !!!! sh!t like that is unacceptable by ANY STANDARD!!

I think the only way to make it right is refund the money or completely redo the job, including cutting out the silicone they put down.
