In my Silverado there is an installed 400 watt inverter, I’ve looked for the draw that the charger for my Ion battery requires, but can’t find any info. Anyone else here have info, or has done it either with or without success?

The ion battery and charger is really similar to the Greenworks, Ryobi, etc 40v batteries. In fact, the only difference I’ve seen between the Ion and the Ryobi 40v lithium ion batteries is that the connectors are reversed (male-female connections)

Here’s the charging specs for the Greenworks 40V charger:
    SPECIFICATIONS
    Input: 100-240V AC 50-60Hz,1.5A Max
    40V charger: 29482
    Output: 40V DC 2A

    Translation: a 400 watt inverter would be fine. Watts = Amps x Volts. You’d probably get by fine with a 200 watt. (1.5A * 110V = 165 Watts)

Also depending on if the ion charger is picky about pure sine waves and what inverter is in your truck.
