I’m snooping around for one. Anyone have suggestions on a good brand/model? Or where a good place is to get a new or used one? I’m trying to remember when the next gun sale will be at Cabelas.

If your just looking for a muzzleloader and and not to convert it to center fire the cva kodiak shoots really well. For 200 bucks hard to beat. For the little time of rifle season it is crazy to spend a ton of money on a muzzle loader. Especially with open sites only during the season far shot are out of the question anyway. I can group 5 shots in a 2″ circle at 100 yards open sites with powerbelt bullets and triple seven pellets. More then enough for any deer.

I bought the T/C Pro Hunter FX. The gun is very comfortable to shoot and easy to clean. I believe it was around $600 and I bought it on gunbroker.com

I took it to a new level, savage ML10 lapped the barrel, glassed the action, added a new pillar, floated the barrel, custom stock with a 24 power leupold scope and I shoot modern smokeless powder so I really don’t have to clean it about every 100 shoots plus its a 400+ yard gun

I have a TC Triumph Bone Collector very light weight super accurate I have used Blackhorn 209 powder and love it. No cleaning between shots and when do do clean it all you use is standard gun cleaning solvents. No hot soapy water mess.

I will add because the gun is light it does kit a bit
