I had a couple of the BX minnows and used them slow rolling over dams on P2….unbelievable bite. I would assume using HJ’s that slow would also work as they have a pretty good wobble?

Wish I wouldn’t have lost those BX’s…..guess it’s time to hear to Reeds.com!

    This is pretty awesome.
How big of a area was this warm water discharge?

You could cover the area the walleye were holding in with a long cast.

Our goal is to release them the day after we finish filming each episode. I would think you could expect them some time each week between Monday and Wednesday.

If one of these videos comes out on Monday that means it was a good bite and everything went perfectly. If it comes out on Wednesday it means the fish made us work for it.

I’d expect more videos on Wednesday versus Monday. Fish are mean. waytogo

Probably very true but also very funny. rotflol

James should be quite familiar with selecting the exact proper jig size and pitching it without any motion besides the plastics tail wiggling. The weight of jig determines how fast the water pushes it downstream.
That’s what it takes this time o year!

Reminds me of a segment of TacticalBassin. They said you needed to slow down a Huddleston 8 in soft plastic bait for bass, then slow down again, then slower again. They were barely turning the reel but that is what the bass wanted. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

HJ’s are a very good cold water stick bait but in this particular instance the BX swimmer was exactly what the doctor ordered. On a long cast an HJ will have a max dive depth of 4 to 5 ft. Many of the fish we were catching on the fox were in much deeper water. The BX swimmer sinks much like a countdown so we were able to work the bait much deeper and get a bait in front of them.

Cool video. I imagine that slight tail flick looked almost identical to the slow moving shad.

When we slow rolled the BX boat side the action was identical to the shad we were watching. Definitely a perfect match the hatch scenario.

Once we figured out the speed of retrieve the bite came together very nicely! Amazing how particular the fish are in the cold water.
