Importing waypoints onto HDS 9 Gen 2

Recently I put waypoints from my Garmin 76csx hand held onto a SD card. Then I tried to import these onto my HDS 9. Followed instructions from various Google searches which all seemed very simple but the waypoints will not import. I must be missing something along the way. It looks as though the waypoints are on the card after looking at it on my PC. The waypoints were taken from the Garmin and put into Basemap which is a program Garmin said to use then taken from there and put onto the SD card. Any suggestions on what to try would be appreciated Thanks !!

The waypoints need to be formatted to Lowrance type(.usr) Need software to convert. I have Lakemaster Contour Elite so I can import waypoints then export in whatever file type I need.

I have never used it but easygps.com seems to be popular for converting waypoints.
