    Just a reminder. waytogo

Walleye/northern pike/bass season ended on inland MN waters 2/25/24 (yesterday)
Permanent shelters must be removed in the southern 2/3 of the state 3/4/24
Permanent shelters must be removed in the northern 1/3 of the state by 3/18/24
2023/2024 Angling license expiration on 2/29/24 (Thursday)
2024/2025 Angling license active on 3/1/24 (Friday)

I sometimes tend to forget about these things especially the angling license dates. Hopefully this helps someone else remember too.

Sucks walleye closed yesterday but I guess it stopped me from having to call in sick today.

Good reminder on the new license. I hate to think how many years I’ve fished a outing or 2 on a expired license. Stupid date to have it end on.

Good reminder! I just bought and printed a new one. one less thing to try and remember before heading to LOTW this weekend to put the beat down on some big pike!

I had to reprint my license and check the dates before fishing open water this weekend. I guess the pike and bass were biting before I got there but they just looked at my lures. The fish I did catch were moving in slow motion.

One would think having a lifetime license one would be ok. Nope. It must be reprinted to be current or you get a ticket for not having a license.

No joke, about 10 years ago I went to a fairly popular lake. I heard the bite had heated up. Ice was still plenty good for driving out. I drove to my spot and unloaded the portable. I drilled around 15 holes to hop around to. Got my rods all situated and dropped the transducer in the hole. As I was hooking on my first waxies for my first drop, a CO came from behind me. Asked how it was going. I said I’m just about to drop for the first time. He says, can I check your license first quick? Sure enough it was the morning after it expired.
He laughed and says I was about the 7-8th guy that morning already. He was real friendly about it and said I better head to town and buy one, and don’t forget to sign it! doah rotflol
