How old is your daughter, and how often does she use a tablet or smart phone?

She’s 15 – Way to Much. I’m going to start putting a limit on that !!!!

Pull the devices for 3-4 weeks. See if the headaches go away. Bad posture from staring at a screen, along with laying in bed staring at a bright screen at night can cause some serious head aches. Something to think about.

Pull the devises for 3-4 weeks. Now that’s funny. Either you don’t have or haven’t had a teen aged daughter in a LONG time or you must be the most hated dad ever jester

I think teenaged girls would rather have their Teeth and Hair pulled out rather than give up there cell phones.

I am going to put a rather strict limit on its usage for sure- I’m sure that alone will now make ME the most hated dad ever grin

Work In the medical field as an ER nurse. You wanna no how many times we have patients come in with symptoms of headaches and dizziness? A lot they are the most vague and common symptoms that can lead to so many things. I would caution against the CT the rate of kids developing brain cancer after a CT is high. So I would only do that in the last instance. Change simple things like diet, rest and other things like limiting screen time.

Try turning off the internet in your house and limiting the data plan on your wife’s phone to 1 gig. You want to talk about hated? But that’s what it took for her to realize that her head and neck issues were directly related to her addiction to her phone. We’re talking random pupil dilation, debilitating head aches, and general fatigue. CT scans, numerous doctors, and only a vague diagnosis from one doctor saying “you could try limiting mobile devices.”

Our 7 year old has a tablet but is only allowed 1 hour total monday-friday, and an additional 1 hour total on the weekend. Thankfully she’s a reader and loves the library.

My brother has twins, just about 2 years old. They are constantly in front of big screen tvs with kids movies playing, or on tablets. its blatantly obvious they are over stimulated and addicted to the screen time. When the kids have trouble sleeping, another movie is played on the bedroom tv. one of the kids is having social issues already. I’m 100% convinced its the insane amount of screen time that is affecting their kids.

Maybe i’m way off base but mobile device addiction is real, and it has real physical health detriments.

To circle this back to the original issue here, why can’t a doctor figure that out? Or is it not in their scope?
