So, I let my kids fish at our landing. It is pretty much exclusively small bluegill and they switch between poles with waxies, and baiting the fish with bread and catchimg them with small nets. Not sure what happened today, but this was with a net in about 2ft of water 1ft from shore. It went back home.

Agreed. That kid is not socially distanced from that fish. Nice catch!

It’s a kid with a net. So be it. Accidental catch, and then released. Jeez. Good for the kids.

Are they spawning or stupid or what? I’m legitimately confused how a child did this.

Kids will be kids. Remember the kids that lasso’ed the sturgeon last year on Minnehaha?

He wasn’t fishing, just doing a little science extra credit. That’s not illegal.

My neighbor netted a 54 inch muskie at the cabin several years ago. It was spawning in a foot of water off his dock at this same time of year. He kept it. Alot different than this.

As the saying goes.. Loose Lips Sink Ships. My neighbors bro inlaw told a couple of us about it and we turned him in. I couldn’t believe the wardens were able to get him to confess and confiscated the fish.
