James, Or anyone else with good knowledge of the system,
Where do you usually place the bait when the system is set (distance from the bottom) when walleye fishing? Is there a preferred go to setting, or does it change based on other things?
    Thanks,
    Dan

Same as you would with any deadstick. I’d say a good rule of thumb is start a couple feet off the bottom on one and maybe 6in-1ft lower on another. Some days they like it really high off the bottom, some days under a foot. Good luck

Great, thanks for the help. I kind of figured it was similar to the dead stick. But hearing about people fishing a couple feet under the ice for pike had me wondering.

Pike you could be on the bottom, couple feet off, or even a foot or two under the ice. lot of wiggle room there

My uncle told me something a whole lot of years ago that has always stuck with me. When setting a dead stick or tip up, do a beer can or double stack off the bottom. Has never failed me.
