Depends, do you have a MN or WI driver’s license?

I think if you have a MN driving license, but a WI fishing license, and your boat is registered in MN, then you can fish the WI side of the river but must abide by the fishing regulations of the MN side.

Of course, things get tricky if you are planning on keeping fish. You’ll need to follow the MN possession limits, unless you are physically in WI. Unless you are fishing for catfish. Now, if you are caught on the MN side of the river, you can only have one line per person, but if you are on the WI side you may fish 2, but if your trailer is parked on the MN side then it’s up to the DNR.

It’s all pretty clear, let me know if you have any questions.

    I’m a Wisconsin resident.

The question was meant in jest but thanks for the detailed response! I suppose there is actually some validity to the question.

If there is a shelter in place order, there shouldn’t be any Minnesota trailers on the Minnesota side, or the Wisconsin side for that matter

There are a lot of things that “shouldn’t be”. However, there are also a lot of things that “will be” regardless of any order put in-place.

I’m not going to fish the community river areas this weekend regardless of any order or not. However, the day I get busted, fined, arrested, harassed, etc. for fishing an area with nobody nearby (I’m talking over a mile away) chasing backwater perch in sloughs by myself…is the day my last strand of faith in humanity is broken. I just don’t see rural LEOs worrying about anything other than crowds of people gathering or in businesses together.

You won’t get fined for violating a shelter-in-place order.

    Sorry,
You must have a fishing license from the state you reside in to fish the border waters.
If MN Drivers License, you must have MN Fishing license.
If WI Drivers License, you must have a WI Fishing License.

Either way, you obey the laws on the side of the river you are fishing.

    Entirely wrong too.
Still, follow the rules from the state you are fishing.
    Don’t matter where you launch.

    WI 3 lines.
    MN 2 lines.

Please don’t muddy up the waters Logan.

Haha sorry, I thought it was obvious that I was just rambling jibberish. Obviously none of what I wrote is true.

Fish Blood or BK are best two to actually answer your question.

As of 2:12, still nothing. However, politicians often leave the most controversial things until the end of press conferences and it’s still going…

If I have a WI drivers license, am pulling a boat with WI registration and a trailer registered in MN, launch on the Minnesota side, go to the Prescott launch, can I buy Spotted Cow and bring it back to the Minnesota side and drink it there while fishing for bullheads with 3 hooks on 2 lines, as long as I’m between the tracks and not upstream of the confluence?

GOV Evers only has issue executive orders SB-I-II-XXXI-XLV 24/7
This order shall require all Sconnies to shelter in font of TV.
Any attempt to violate this order by viewing SB XXXII shall be considered a violation, punishable by forced attendance of the next MN Vikings training camp.
