I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting it out Monday. I’ll report back findings once I have a chance to get it on the water. I’m honestly not quite sure what to expect.

Did you get out yet? One piece of advice if you decide to run at O’Dark thirty
in the morning; Make sure you know the exact location of that mud flat in the river bend. It’s no fun when the jet runs out of water and the boat bottom is sucked in tight to the mud. No need to ask how I know. blush

Never made it out on Monday but tomorrow’s the day. I’m going to take it out for a brief shakedown cruise before I dig into the rest of the rigging. I’ll have a report back here by midday tomorrow / Wednesday.

A note on rigging up for fly fishing….There are a thousand things for fly lines to snag on. This is bad for the fly line and it always seems to happen at the worst possible time. One idea that works pretty well is to drape a beach towel across the deck and let the fly line land on that.

Have fun with the maiden voyage!

Well I had a chance to get the jet boat out on the water for the first time today before the rains got heavy. Overall I could not be more happy as the Boat and motor exceeded all of my expectations. Holeshot with two guys and a full tank of gas is instantaneous. Honestly not sure how much quicker a prop boat would get this hull up on plane. I’m sure the sponsons help with that by keeping the back end of the boat from squatting as the boat picks up speed. It feels like the boat goes from sitting stationary to 20 miles an hour with almost no effort.Top speed was 32 miles an hour based on handheld GPSand the motor is nowhere near broke in yet. Handling was fantastic. I thought the boat was very responsive would even go so far as to call it nimble. I’ll have more to share once I get the rest of the rigging done but the first trip out earned a double thumbs up. We’re going to have a lot of fun with our new ride!

You can tailgate if you want but don’t be surprised if I retaliate. jester It’s amazing how far those jet boats can throw water.

That looks like a blast, and I certainly don’t mean to change the subject of this thread, but which Striker suit are you wearing in that FaceBook video, James?

There are no competitions where prop boats can’t go. wave

That’s strikers new eVolve rain gear. It isn’t available yet but will be released later this spring. I’m testing one of the first production suits. It is incredibly dry and we’ll put together. waytogo
