OK, let’s see if we can get some beer drunk (drank?) and stories swapped. It’s time for the IDO Hunting Happy Hour Reloaded.

We’re going to try moving it to a Thursday to see if more are able to attend.

    Date & Time
    Thursday, March 2
    5:00 PM to whenever.

    Location
    Jersey’s Bar and Grille
6449 Concord Blvd, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076-1814

Drinks and food are on your own for this one. Jersey’s happy hour is 3 to 6, so come early to take advantage of that.

Please reply to this thread so we know who can make it. Hope to see a lot of you there.

Sounds good! I’ll also bring my wife if that’s decorum.

Being in the east metro and starting at 5, shouldn’t everyone bring a lantern too? Probably be dark by the time you’re done…

Bring Mrs. Suzuki, by all means. This is a family-friendly event and most of the IDO Hunting members are housebroken.

Hopefully we can get Sticker (calling @Sticker1, we mean you) to make an appearance at this social event of the season. And @Deertracker, any chance you’re in town?

Mrs Suzuki is warm, friendly, FUN, attractive and overall a really great person. You know, the opposite of me…….I better bring her.

Obviously, you are out of touch. The elastic trickery has been available here in God’s Country (as far as South St. Paul at least) for several weeks now.

Good to know, I’m sure running water is right around the corner too! Just really glad to hear everyone’s blood letting treatment went well and your event is proceeding.

Werm, are you actually going to show up? Or are you just here to harass those of us who live over here in God’s Country?

I want you to know that you’re welcome to join us. Even if you do come from “over there”. We’re like Jesus, we love ’em all!

Hahaha I’ll try and make it. So long as no one tries to convert me religiously or, more importantly, geographically!

I initially read this a little differently. Perhaps calling out the depravity & debauchery of the “east end” (i.e reference to the Lamplighter).

If schedules work out I will try to attend.

C’mon. I’ll even let you buy me a beer if you come.

Not one of those fluffy, overhopped, overwrought, overflavored, over-the-top beers. Just a beer. For, like, drinking.

Now how can you beat that?

Tegg….you show up for this and I’ll haul you down to the 494 access on Pool 2 (about 2 miles away) and show you how to use a two-handed Switch rod. Maybe we can get Grouse to provide commentary on my casting faults rotflol

If you want commentary on your casting faults, I can give you the name of the Scotsman who taught (and I use the term “taught” loosely) me to Speycast. Oh, you’ll get commentary allright.

After my first day, I asked him how I was doing.

Me: “Malcolm, how am I doing casting-wise?”

Malcolm: “Aye. Fine. You’re doing well. Mind, it’s me that needs a dram. I’ve been bloody tortured for 8 hours watching you! It’s more than a man can take without the comfort of drink.” `

    Okay, then…

I don’t know what’s worse…..harsh criticism from a guide like Malcolm, or sticking flies into the back of your hat until you figure out what to do.

I did not see a beer list on the website. I can’t guarantee a perfectly hopped pale ale.

Totally agree. C’mon it’s the meeting of the tribe. Who else can make it?

Personally, I cannot believe that @ralphwiggum won’t take this golden opportunity to leave the hardships of the frontier life and enjoy a little high living in the East Metro. Ralph, you don’t even have to cross the river!

I am intrigued by how you would travel from MG to IGH without crossing the river…
