New IDO member and wet behind the ears ice fisherman. Will definitely be coming up to partake Friday. If I can convince my wife to let me skip my nephew’s bday party, I’ll hang around Sat as well.

Can’t get Red Door on the horn. Been getting their voicemail all day. If I can’t get a room, I’ll be in the back of my pickup with my portable buddy heater.

Connected with Red Door this morning. They have just a couple motel rooms remaining as of 8:30am today.

Never fished ML in the winter. Really looking forward to it. From those that have been up there before that time of year, do you think I’ll have any problems getting around on the ice in a Polaris Ranger with tires? I’d like to keep my new pickup off the ice if possible.

Your ranger will be fine as long as we don’t get dumped on with snow. I plan on driving my truck all over. Just stay away from any breakers/cracks, there have been like 8 vehicles thru this year and every one was going over something they shouldn’t have been.

Right now you can pretty much drive anywhere. If we don’t get much measurable snow in the next 21 DAYS, you should be good.

I’m heading up this Sunday, and all next weekend if anyone wants to meet up. Although next weekend is take the adult kids fishing weekend for me, as a bunch of buddies from the East Coast are up, so probably won’t be running and gunning much.

huh just caught this thread, So I am fishing Thursday up there at Red Door and then heading to lake Winnie then coming back through Saturday.

So any meeting spot on the ice for Saturday?

I think everyone will be off on their own Saturday, and/or participating in the Perch Extravaganza. We will have free food, drinks and door prizes including a TUCR(!!!) back at the Red Door around roughly 7 pm.

The friday of I will PM anyone who PM’s me inqiring GPS coordinates or a general location I plan on being at. All are welcome to smother me. Until then mums the word so don’t even try bombarding me with PM’s looking for a place to fish the next 20 days. Did a little recon last wknd did alright. Not a slam dunk by any means so if anybody’s got one we can congregate there. Otherwise we can bombard my spot.

I’m lucky I was able to get him to put pants on to sleep in the fish house. Lol. Yeah we were back after them this weekend. Some friends and neighbors say I may have a bit of a problem. But when your woken up at 5 am by this guy, I can’t help it…… I’m addicted and I’m dragging my boys down with me.

Friday I will be up fishing all day, and then we will meet up back at Red Door in the evening around 7. We will have door prizes including a TUCR drawing each night. I was up Yesterday, and good news is the pigs are biting while fully clothed during the day as well. We didn’t catch a ton on the pre-Super Bowl run, but no complaints with a 27.5″ and a 26.5″.

You bet, when are you heading up that Friday? I’d be happy to meet up.

Redneck Jr and I will be heading up Friday and plan on getting there about 5PM.

I saw Drifter mentioned setting up near each other, I would be down for that. I have been out of RD twice this year with good success but am always open to a new spot. We will be staying through Sunday morning. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys.

Also interested in some ice trolling during the day Saturday if we get enough folks interested.
