Great start to the 2019 season. I only had an Idaho tag but the rest of the group had Montana tags too. I wound up glassing this bull alone and got the wind right to make a play and work up a drainage into a saddle. I had him at less the. 10 yards at one point but couldn’t get a shot. Unfortunately after I got him my trip was cut short due to a family emergency. The elk were just starting to turn on when I was leaving.

Way to go. Are those wood arrows? That would make this a true traditional archery dream come true.

    Super nice job! Congrats.

    Super nice job! Congrats.

If I would have brought the longbow Tom I would have used cedars but unfortunately those are carbon express heritage. Someday I’ll be ready for the full trad experience! ????

They almost looked like wood. Regardless, taking an animal of that size with a stick bow is a super challenge. What a great end to a hunt. That picture of you walking out with that set of horns on the pack is a fitting photo for a hunt like that. Happy for you.

Ben… looks like a good one. Glad to see you are still at it out in the outdoors. Feel free to drop a few loin cuts off to me
