Anyone have a trick for keeping rod guides and reels from icing up this time of year?

It is impossible to fish with these temps to keep your guides ice free while fishing outside.

What style of guides do you have on your rod now ?

I do know that using a fly guide type of guide they do ice up less !

Those are the only guides I use now(fly rod type guides)

Silicone based line conditioner seems to slow down the icing on rod guides for me fishing from my boat on freezing temperature days. I spray my line and spray the guides and repeat on the guides as needed.

best way is to use a one man flip over and small propane heater
Even when hole-hopping, a one man is pretty quick to move with.
In fact I think it’s easier because your dragging your gear with rather than trying to carry rod/flasher/bait from hole to hole

if you’re gonna be outside, next best thing is what Art Green suggested

Nothing but a warm shack works perfectly. Blakemore Reel Magic works helps for hole hopping, but that is all you can expect is to help

Sometimes keeping your rod tip closer to the water can HELP, but not prevent.

Reel magic helps slow the freeze down but like others said a one man shack and heater is the best option.
