Well Boys…..We’ve got ice and angry fish!! The “FAT LADY” isn’t singing up here!! IN FACT they have forecasted cool temps only reaching 30-32 degrees for the next WEEK!!

Granrud’s making ice this week. I know I’m not even close to hanging up the ice gear yet.
lots of ice time left yet, even in the Eau Claire area. Hope to be fishing for at least 2 – 3 weeks.

My ice gear is now put away and I am getting the boat ready for the open water season.
Only 2 months until I will be up on Rainy. I cannot wait.
As much as I look forward to dipping the new “Skeet Retreat” into the stained waters of Rainy Lake a part of me doesn’t want that ice to leave yet. Sure everyone gets a bit eager for that smash of a stickbait in the shallow waters of spring, but who can walk away from the mind numbing trance an “Ice Head” gets watching your flasher.
I need 3 more weeks boys!! Rainydaze saw his shadow and I’m calling for 3 more weeks of pounding big fish on the sheet!
BTW we MADE ice again today!!
Fishing was MEDIUM. Some nice slabs, but they seemed a bit confused with the weather reversal and 30 mph winds. 2 points………”MOTHER NATURE”
