Heading to the Webster area on Sat. Looks like this will be the last out of town ice fishing trip of the year. Meeting a buddy from Sioux Falls and gonna hit it hard for three days. Hopefully find some big perch and a panfish or two.

I think that we are going to try Waybay, the Refuge area of Waybay, Poinsitte and maybe a slough or two if some of the snow is gone.

Its bitter sweet to think of having to put the ice fishing stuff away for the year soon but I guess I am ready for the open water soon.

Well good luck and I hope you have a very successful end of the year fishing trip.

lucky dog, i’ve missed fishing ‘spring lake’ in the refuge the last couple of years. there’s nothing like sitting on 12 feet of gin clear water sight fishing walleyes all afternoon while other people are chasein perch.

remember to bring a hooded poncho if you plan to sit on the ice. if the snow geese are up heavy it can get reeeal messy in a hurry.

Good luck, I don’t think the refuge got fished much this year to due to the snow depth. I know my buddies only made one or two trips vs. 10-12 normally.
