    Guys,
I have been targeting perch all ice season. Mainly in the deeper areas with soft bottoms near the weedy edges. It’s been a strange hit and miss for sucess.
Now with the thaw on it’s way, where do they typically head to in preparation for the spawn? What depths and bottom type should I be looking for?
I’ve normally quit for the year and put the gear away by now.

    Thanks,
    Don

It would help if you could post the body of water your fishing.

Perch can be found suspended like Sunfish and Crappie or close to the bottom like their cousin the Walleye. When they’re hungry they’ll usually be close to the bottom though.
