Both the Kahtoola Microspikes and the IceTrekker Diamonds get good ratings on the web. Just wondering if anyone has any real world experience with either of these?

The IceTrekkers are about 1/2 the cost and look like they may hold up better. With the slick late ice conditions coming soon I want to get a nice pair of creepers for a change.

Can’t help with the 2 brands mentioned.

I do own a pair oif Stabilicers and they are awesome.

I have never slipped on the glare ice even when I have pulled a portable out.

They are a bit spendy but they are a great cleat.

I am going on year 5 with these and they still preform like new.

Ever since I put on a pair of Micro Spikes from Kahtoola, I know I will never have to buy another pair..

They are easy on , but do not slip off.. Yet they are easily removable. There is absolutely no slippage on the ice with these.. .I have some buddies that wore them during deer hunting this past year and they said they made walking the hill sides a dream !!!

Now, I have worn my fair share of ice cleats and chains and have found the Kahtoola to be far superior… I have never used the Trekkers.

I have not used those brands. The kind I have is like the ice trekkers shown, but I got mine at Fleet Farm. I have had mine for years and just used them again yesterday. I really like them and they work great. The only downside is that I can’t get them to go over my BIG winter pack boots. Has not been a problem as I usually only wear those where there is LOTS of snow anyway so don’t need the cleats.

I tried out Koonce’s at the Petenwell get together. Bought a pair based on that trial and they have been well worth it. They easily fit on all my different boots I wear on the ice, including my ice kings, which I have never been able to find cleats to fit worth a darn. I highly recommend the kahtoolas

I bought Cabela’s Predator boots and had a hard time finding cleats large enough to fit them. I finally found YakTrax Extremes in extra large and they fit nicely and really bite into the ice. Very well made also, should last many seasons.
