W/ the weather forecast of snow in North/Central Wisconsin we are heading out a day early. The plan right now is to stay somewhere between Eau Claire and Superior Tues. night. We are thinking of MAYBE doing some fishing on Wed. somewhere betweeen Superior and Rainy Lake. ANY SUGGESTIONS OR TIPS???? PM me if you don’t want to post directly. We are heading up from SW-Wisconsin….don’t know the “area” up there at all….just looking to pass some time on Wed. Before we hook up w/ Mr. Granrud Thursday and Friday!!

    THANKS!

Just keep going until you get to Orr Minnesota, right on Hwy 53 on your way to I-Falls.

Fish Pelican Lake. Good pan fish lake. From there it’s a short 1 hour hop to I-Falls.

Small motel right as you enter Orr. Very nice, clean reasonable price. Or continue about a mile and there is a big Americ Inn there. Much more expensive but nice if you got the wife with.

I would stay in Orr as mentioned, and then hit up Elephant Lake-its north of Orr about 10 miles. HUGE CRAPPIES and gills.

    THANKS JEFF!!

Alright, it looks like we will shoot for Orr tomorrow. Spend the night and fish on Wed. in that area. How accessible are both lakes? Easy enough to figure out where to head for fishing? Are people driving on them????

THANKS! The more info…..the better. PM me if you don’t want to make it public.

    TJ91:

I was going to suggest Orr as well and if my memory serves me correct there is a lake NE, I think on Couty Hwy 23, of Orr called Myrtle Lake. We fished crappies on that lake.

Pelican Lake is famous for its bluegills, just never fished it.

You will see where people are on Pelican. Elephant is very secluded.

With ice fishing? Its been two years since I have been up there. All I know is that both lakes have tremendous fishing for almost all species!

Elephant has some dandy crappie. We really iced some nice ones 2 years ago.
