As we sneak into March those of us with Ice Trollers through Marcum are going to be in HEAVEN!! As we start moving and grooving the lightweight troller around my neck is going to be fantastic!! Can’t wait to put it to use!! Have any of you guys that have had slightly warmer weather for searching been Ice Trolling yet?? I will admit I haven’t used a LCD type sonar on the ice yet and the advent of this lightweight design has me pretty excited.

My buddy went through three faulty units in three weeks before getting his money back from Marcum. I guess they do have great customer service.

    He’s a vexilar guy now.

I have seen a bunch of them and only one bad one out of the bunch. There will always be room for improvement with a new product. Marcum will stand behind their stuff 100%

Sorry to hear that. Was he trying the showdown or Ice Troller??

My buddies have ran 6 Showdowns in there guide biz and have been very happy with them. They did decide to add a LX3 recently.

Personally I like color. Everyone has their own preference, but I use LX 3’s and 5’s in my guide biz. I did pick up the Ice Troller for Crappie fishing as I felt the benefits at that price point would be a nice add to my game. Still this will be my first experience using it on the sheet this season as I purchased it for march chasing.

On a sidenote my LX3’s and LX5’s have been ROCK solid now going on close to 150 trips over the last 2 years between the 4 of them, and that is riding in the bottom of my otter on every trip in a bit bumpy conditions!! Fair to say that my flashers have been the most reliable piece of equipment I’ve ran in my guide biz over the last couple years.

Chris nalied it. MarCum has a great product line and their CS is very good if you by chance were to get a unit with an issue.

Most often, when drilling-out a new piece of structure, a partner is following behind with a MarCum VS380 underwater camera. It’s the other half of my fish-finding gameplan. Anglers like cameras because they offer an entertaining way to watch fish react to lures. But the truth is, the camera is even more valuable as a fish-finding tool. The VS380 is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry on the fly. The picture on the 380 is incredibly clear, too, showing an amazing amount of detail-all the way down to individual mayfly larva, even zooplankton. Really, it’s like having HD-TV on ice.
