Got the little man out

I’m not sure how much longer my truck keys are safe

Alex and I hit the ice late yesterday afternoon with grandma and grandpa. Alex drove, as he always does when we hit the ice, he can now reach the brake and the gas I remember doing the same thing as a young gun and it’s something I will never forget. I don’t remember how many fish we got or if we got any at all but I sure do remember driving that old rusty Chev, thanks old man

Alex powered up the flasher and promptly told me we were on fish. I was still in the process of setting things up and had my back to him while I was getting the heater going and all of a sudden I hear, FISH ON! I turn around to see a nice big pie come up the hole, WOW what a way to start! 12 inches of getting my butt kicked right out of the gate and the kid never looked back. We sat side by side, both with a flasher and a spring bobber set up and I honestly could not keep up. Alex made sure to let me know who was in the lead for the balance of the afternoon, in his words “I’m kickin your butt Dad” I love that kid!!

Way to pass in the passion. I was out with my dad and my 3 year old this past Saturday. The little guy out fished us both and cried when we told him we had to finally go home because mom had supper ready. I hope the passion and drive he has continues to grow.
