I purchased a Clam Large Fan/Light Combo with the 12v adapter and the 1st one didn’t work correctly. So, I called CS and they sent me out a new unit and out of the package that unit didn’t work correctly either, so they sent me out another and it worked not as expected but better than the other 2 unit’s. However the second time out using the unit 2 out of the 3 LED lights were not working. Man I was pissed 3 out of 3 unit’s “JUNK”. I took it back yesturday to where I purchased the unit and put my money towards something better. Clam has been great in the CS department but definately lacking in the quality control department.

Not that this will make you feel much better…but if you would have been reading Ido back in Dec, we had a number of people saying the same thing. Could have saved you a small headache.
When ever I’m thinking of buying something or need repair, I ask on Ido. Someone has gone through what I’m about to do already and most cases, it save me time, money or both.
…Except for the 5 ceiling fans I had to move once.
February 23, 2011 at 1:33 pm #940676Clam has really taken a dive as far as quality goes! I have a house that I have been dealing with them on since first ice to get replaced and after a few e-mail back and forth they quit responding to me. Never again!
February 23, 2011 at 2:22 pm #940702yeah, I know I should have asked people on here, my mistake. I did ask before I bought the Ice Troller though. I agree that Clam’s quality is very poor and I’ve heard alot about their quality going down hill, I guess that’s why they have to have as good of CS as they can. As a contractor I would never get referrals if all my products and workmanship was junk. I can’t believe they have this big name for themselves and not anything to back it up. In my opinion their just a name. What ever happend to “100% MADE IN AMERICA” quality products? It may be cheaper to have it made over seas but by the time you ruin your name you have nothing. I believe in quality and I am willing to pay for the quality products that I want. How does everyone else feel? I think we should all get together as fellow sportsman and create and show what quality is all about again.

Keep in Mind you and everyone else needs to be willing to pay for that 100% made in America. Lot’s of American Made product available, but most of the time I see people walking right past them and reaching for the cheaper make someplace oversea’s options.
February 23, 2011 at 5:53 pm #940813Here is a few words of wisdom
Better quality almost always costs more initially.
Better quality is almost always a better value.
Poor quality almost always costs more in the long run.
Poor quality is almost always a bad value.
There is nothing made in China that is known for its high quality.
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweet taste of a low price is long forgotten!
