This is for sure something i have never seen or heard of before. While fishing Sunday with my older brother he says to me “holy crap, HUGE red line on the Marcum” and i said to him “well ummm catch it” 
He tried and tried and then it hit. As soon as he set the hook all i heard was the drag peeling so i figured i better get over there and get the transducer out of the hole. He was pretty excited to say the least, he is new to ice fishing. He kept asking me “what is it” and i just kept telling him to settle down its probably just a big bass. Well after fighting it for about 15 minutes with me on my hands and knees ready to grab it when it came up the hole i caught a glimps of it. I said to him its a great big carp, and he says Really??? i told him to take it easy and try to get his head to come up through the hole, finally he got it and i went in up to my elbows in the water to get ahold of this thing. It was a tight fit threw the 8″ hold but we got her out. I think he was grining from ear to ear the rest of the day, even though it was just a stupid ol’ carp 
! It was kind of a trip getting her back down the hole so she could swim away but we managed.
