Just want to know what kind of bait to use? Does color matter? Thanks Travis

I’m assuming your fishing for channel cats..so I like Custom Jigs and Spins Lightning Spoons<< in 1/4 oz and the Pink Glow.

Don’t get stuck on the color.

Tip the treble with a live fathead minnow until you know that isn’t working. Then try just the minnow head.

Aggressive jigging will get their attention, but I’ve had my best luck once I see them on the Marcum to hold the lure as still as possible.

Some days they can have a very light bite and other days you’ll need to hang on to your rod.

Good luck and lets see some picture!

Your typical catfish bait should still work, but I like to use a fathead minnow. Sometimes a lively one, sometimes a very dead one, and sometimes just the minnow head. Most of my ice catfishing comes at evening our early morning hours so colors hasn’t matter so much. Buckshot spoons are my lucky lures, so I stick with them.
