new to ice fishing

just got in to ice fishing.looking for a fish lokater that i can use on the ice and on my bow mount troling motor,does any one have some sugestions any help would be great.

Vexilar would be great. You would want two different transducers.. one for ice fishing and one mounted on the bottom of your BMTM. Used this set up for several years and worked great.

what vexilar do you sugest the fl 8,12,18,20.and does any one have a good used one for sale.thanks for any help.

Marcum makes a high speed transducer for your boat. Get the best model you can afford. Generally, the more you pay, the more features your gonna get. But the Marcum VX-1P has the same features as the FL-18 at about a hundred bucks less.

Do you have universal sonar on your motor? If so and you want to use that with the flasher, Vexialr is the only choice as of now. I sure wish Marcum would get together with Minn Kota and get the Marcum flashers added to the list.

I use my LX-5 MarCum year round. Love the high speed transducer. Mike uses his out of the front of the boat using the transducer kit for the trolling motor, works great.

Shoot James Holst a PM if interested. Sounds like he can get you into a top of the Line Flasher for $425. This unit is second to none!

As with any fishing situation there are factors that affect fish behavior beyond our immediate understanding. Fishing through the same hole as the day before can bring completely different results. Don’t be afraid to change techniques and try different movements and depths if the fishing is slow.

Humminbird has a new locator out. It’s the 385ci (ice ducer, ice screen, summer fishin screen and gps all in one unit.) I own a marcum myself and looking at adding this for the multiple uses.
