well made it up for a trip with Hawghunter and love2 fish (think that is their handles). we got up there about 2:30 Thursday afternoon and Arnie was plowing the “parking lot” so we could fish without the water gushing out of our holes into the house from all the weight.

well we got set up by about 4 pm and enjoyed a quiet night bite with Arnie taking a very plump 24 incher that we got a picture or 2 of then back down the hole. had a slow morning and day bite, only to pull the camera’s up at 4:45 on Friday then at 5 while Arnie and John were playing cribbage Arnie asked if I hit my rod (as only thing we were catching fish on was a red hook and split shot set in the rod holder) i said no, set the hook and here is what was on the receiving end for me. a nice fat 26 1/2 inch eye for a PB through the ice. a few pictures and she was released also and then the night bite was on for the rest of the trip.

we were on a hump on Winnie no one had hit yet, there were many portables during the day that left before the night bite, which was the only time we had any decent action, as the perch were not schooling to often by us either during the day.

Then there was the weather and wind chills, that were any where from 20 to 42 below on the outside temperature gauge (my truck was not happy and did not start at all sunday) so after a trip to rapids for a new battery Sunday morning we were on the road about 1:30 headed home from a productive trip. it was a fun week with 2 good guys for company. and the fish even cooperated.

while in rapids John kept calling as he got 2 northerns and 2 20 inch eyes that had to go back also.

I did not get many pictures, as john and Arnie were the camera men. I am sure they might comment and post a few of our other fish pictures. again great time and thanks for having us Arnie.

and as for the picture she was as close as possible to me for seeing the measurements (my belly to hers ) for comparison, as I do not like the arms fully extended look.

here are a few more from my phone. the single eye in the bucket came during deadliest catch, the ice pictures are the eaters, and the bucket and perch are thursday’s work before the friday night fish fry.the king in the throne, then sleeping, then the stove where a few decent meals were made. Then last but not least the plowing to make a spot.

    Looks like a great time

When it’s wicked cold we would take the battery right out of the truck and keep it in the warm shack Or make sure and start the truck and let it run every every 4 hours or so

    Nice pictures and nice fish.
I like the closer in pictures to, sometimes looks like people are holding 4 foot walleyes and hard to judge actual size.
