How many of you guys carry a barometric gauge around for fishing use? Whats your luck with it,& is their a certain one preferred over another?

I do and I check it all the time. I get it through my droid using radarnow app.

Never even thought of it being an App. I own the I-phone so I’m sure the Apps. are gonna be a little different from each other. Was their a fee for the one you carry? How accurate is it?

I have one on my hand held GPS but I have never calibrated it or used it for that matter. Maybe I should

On a side note, next gen Android tablets are going to have a barometer built in. That might come to phones too I suppose if the hardware isn’t space intensive.

Are some of you guys that tuned into the barometric pressure to where if you saw maybe that it was rising or falling that you would know where to move to? Or do you use the info more to tune in on how to fish your bait, like aggressive when it is falling or slow down when it is rising?

I am not concerned much with the current pressure, but I do pay attention to the history of it the preceding hours and days to help me figure out where and how to fish.

I personally am just trying to educate myself on the issue, it’s pretty fascinating how much it affects fishing. I just want to better my success rate & get a grasp on when to be on the water for timing it.

I watch it close and somedays will not get out of bed if it is not looking good. I carried one for a long time I then got it on an app for the phone and now I have spent a lot of money on a great watch that will show preasure and also graph it to show the trends. I love the real time reading and having it with me at all times. Watching pressure has showed me there are times to be getting to your spot and times you need to there and ready.
I am also starting to see trends in how other creatures are effected by changes in the preasure as well.

Checked my I-phone Apps. They have absolutely nothing for a barometric reader at all, unless someone nows something I don’t . Kinda bummed about that.

No phone has the hardware for that, but you can use a weather app to get the most recent barometer reading. They must have a weather bug app for the iPhone.
