With the bitter cold temps today I thought it might be time for a reminder of the warm days of summer. What better way to do that than with some catfishing. Joining me on today’s cat adventure was my father and winter cat guiding extraordinaire Ryan Fischer. Looking at the lakemaster equiped HDS8 for likely cat holes, we agreed on a sharp breaking deep corner and began to DRILL. With the holes in place and fish located on the Marcums, it was GAME ON all we needed to ice our cats was a spoon and a minnow. There aren’t many things that will make three grown men laugh like little kids; but for us today it was a channel peeling line. Sorry for the icy beard but when its -12 there isn’t much I can do about it.

An icy beard is better than ice stalactites hanging out of your nose any frozen day.

Ryan DON’T wait these things fish are some of the hardest fighting fish under the ice. I think the three of iced around 30 cats and one weird fish with scales and a white tip on it’s tail. We also kept 8 for the smoker and grill being that winter cats are some fine eating.

Um no. But I’m sure there in there too. They’re pretty easy to find steep breaks into deep water are the first places to check.

I wish it wouldn’t have been so cold then we could have taken more pics of the big ones. Also if anybody catches a 3# cat with TIM written on it’s belly that was me they have dirt on they’re bellys and you just write your name in the dirt.

All i have to say is “TOO MUCH FUN”! Once again it was nice to hit the ice and catch up with you and your dad. After seeing your new TB custom 36″ perch rod in action, all I have to say is WOW! and I want one!
