Man were there a lot of people out today and there were some real idiots out there racing around in there trucks. I got out around 8 am setting up around the airport lights. My buddy iced a 12 inch perch on his first drop. That got me real excited so I rushed to set up my shack. After about 5 mins i sweet talked a very nice 13-14 inch crappie to take my offering. Only thing was I was being lazy and didn’t reach down for it and the fish flopped back down the hole. Caught some small ones for the next hour and then the whole town showed up. That pretty much shut everything down because they were drilling hole after hole.

I don’t mind people fishing close to me especially in a community hole, but it was agonizing to see guy after guy taking 3-4 mins a piece to drill a hole with their dull power augers. So we made a strategic move about 200 yds from the closest person and found some very nice fish. It’s a tough day when you can’t catch a perch under 12 inches Well we kept a few for the frying pan and released the rest for another day. Not too bad of a day thinking they would be tight lipped with all the cold weather. Here is a pic of the ones we kept. This is the first time I’ve posted a pic so I hope it works. Good luck and tight lines!

Very nice perch and good call on the move

Had the same thing happen to us…also in a community hole just after getting a pattern started on the crappies. Most people did come out later.
With a few groups pounding holes you could watch the marks go tight to bottom and stay there.
Once the commotion settled down we bugged out and found a few more nice fish a good lick from the crowd.
