I’ve got less then 100 hours wearing my new snosuit. One of the plastic buckles for adjusting the shoulder straps already broke. I would expect alot more out of a $300 pair of bibs.

So what did Frabil say they where going to do to fix it?
I have had a partially broken one for about three years now. It still works so have never done anything with it.

I would contact Frabill. I expect they will take care of you as they have wonderful customer service. There is nothing in this world that we utilize that is adverse from from any form of breakage or mishap. A simple shoulder strap should easily be replaced to get you back in the game!
January 18, 2011 at 5:36 pm #927476Did you call them?
I know a couple years ago, my friend made one phone call and a new pair of bibs was in the mail right away.
I’ve never had anything break, rip, or tear on mine.
January 18, 2011 at 5:57 pm #927494I have a few stiching issues on mine. I called their customer service and could not have been any happier with the way I was treated. They told me to go ahead and stich up the loose seam and use them for the season and then send them into them in the off season and they would either repair them or send me a new one. I could not ask for anything more than that.

I called customer service and never got an answer. How did I break them? I put them on and when I pushed the buckle down to tighten the strap it cracked. I don’t know how there gonna replace just the buckle as its sewed in place. Kinda sucks, I had to tie the strap in a knot to hold it.
January 18, 2011 at 6:32 pm #927514I broke one a couple of years ago when I slammed the car door on the buckle. $3.50 at a tailor shop for a new buckle. $5 to sew it on. Took them 2 minutes.

Not sure what # you called. The one I called was 800-558-1005.
I hope you can get thru to them and you get the issue resolved.
bromanPosts: 235January 18, 2011 at 9:29 pm #927601I broke the buckle on my Clam bibs. They have a one year warranty and I probably could have gotten them repaired or replaced, but I fixed mine myself. You can buy buckles at Cabelas in Rogers up in their camping/tents area on the second floor. The have them on a column near the big video game.
Otherwise, the tailor that was mentioned previously is a good deal, can you share the name of the tailer that did the repair for others? I also know that Midwest Mountaineering in Minneapolis repairs outdoor gear.

Buckles can be replaced with ease.
I understand, but when you buy A $600 suit I shouldn’t have to even think about replacing anything on it. Like I said, its been worn for about 100 hours, a little more after this mornings excursion.
January 19, 2011 at 3:10 pm #927815I just called them again, I got frabils voicemail, I left a message. I’ll post what they tell me. Thanks guys.

I understand but this is what I was referring too….

It sounded like you didn’t think a buckle could be replaced

I agree with you. Frabill will be getting a call from me at the end of season…bought mine in November and the plastic ends for the hood string pulled off the very first time I used it (and not pulling hard to tighten). I also could not make it thru the winter without this suit. It is amazingly warm, yet let’s me cool down with the vents. I hole hop and kneel a lot and my knees are dry AND don’t get cold. Never thought I would say it, but it is worth the money.
January 20, 2011 at 2:47 am #928118I called frabill again. Had to leave a voicemail. They called me back while I was on the ice so I will have to call them tomorrow. I love the suit, blows my ice armor away. WARM is what this thing is. I don’t layer under it at all. I will post back after I get ahold of frabill.
January 20, 2011 at 4:13 am #928150If you pay $300 for a pair of bibs that should not happen.
Period.
Customer Service will determine weather (pun intended) or not there is a happy ending to this tale.
I’m a big Frabill fan, and so I’m hoping for a good ending to this story.
Still disappointed with the initial failure though.
January 20, 2011 at 12:37 pm #928187While your theory is strong, I have to disagree a bit. I’m not saying this is Trav’s problem. Simply an observation on myself.
I ride 5 miles off Mille Lacs in -14 temps after dark, I’ve only got one thing in mind. Get my junk loaded and get into that warm pickup ASAP. My stuff gets treated pretty poorly in my haste and it wouldn’t surprise me if I stepped on a buckle at some point not knowing it or slammed it in the door of the truck etc….
To me, it’s more important how Frabill stands behind it’s product than the fact a clip broke.
January 20, 2011 at 11:49 pm #928510I talked to Michelle at Frabill. She told me that piece is not replacable. Instead they are shipping me a new set of bibs! Thats customer service! One question though. I have the original snosuit, is the fxe the exact thing but different logos on it?

There’s some small mods but for the most part they’re very similar.
January 21, 2011 at 1:48 am #928558Dang. That sounds pretty decent. YOu got me thinking about mine now. Think I would feel pretty guilty about getting new bibs after wearing them for 3 or more years.
January 22, 2011 at 10:42 am #929056Just makes me want a SnoSuit even more. Gotta find the $
Also, wish they had more colors.

Like white or woods camo?
January 24, 2011 at 8:51 pm #929746I received my new bibs today. They seem to be identical, with the frabill name of course.
Thanks Frabill!
