I had planned to fish with my friend Tom today but he called in sick for what turned out to be a pretty good morning. Lake Monona is starting to heat up for the mad town crew. Tom had a 13 incher on Saturday while we were up to Petenwell for the day. I would normally release a walleye of this size (21 inches) but she wasn’t going to make it. I’ve been fishing here for 20 years and have not seen a walleye in 55 feet of water yet. The fish are hard pressed to make it back to the bottom after coming up that far. All fish fell to a dropper rig with a bros blood worm or a dead sticked crappie minnow. My Packers are in the NFC championship game and all is right with the world.
