Just had to share my experience with my 1994 Strikemaster Lazer. This thing is 16 years old now. I am particular about maintenance, but have done nothing with this thing. Summer comes and put it away, winter comes, fire it up and good for the season….ZERO maintenance. The only thing that has been replaced is the throttle cable and just this week an elbow fitting for the gas line!!! And replaced blades of course.

I raced a 3 horse SOLO last week and it even beat the new solo with blades that are two years old Had a good laugh about that with my buddy!

Hey Strikemaster, bring back the oldies they rock The old girl will eventually “go to the light” maybe in another 16 years, then I will have to buy a SOLO for sure. That baby will probably go 25 years that should put me at retirement

Thanks again strikemaster, it says something when I brag about a product keep up the good work

You have the same auger I do and around the same age and mine runs the same way. Make sure it has fresh gas and she humms!

Side note…I bought my father-in-law a lazer for Christmas 10 years ago and he has maybe drilled 20 holes with it so I have one when my blows up on me! RR

I have the same unit. Not a single issue yet. Same spark plug I believe. I do not even drain the fuel at the end of the season or add stabil. Was thinking of getting a new Solo but then thought why!!!! I know I have 3 or friends that have spoken for my old one if I ever buy a new one. They are all newer Jiffy owners

I have the same. Fresh gas? Really? Maybe I should start that practice at least.

I’ve posted before about mine, most ignored and most dependable motor in my garage and there’s a few. Honestly feel guilty about it, nothing replaced ever except for the blades.

Do the old ones have a metal choke handle? That was the first thing I broke on my dads lazer express. If you don’t hold onto the rope after you pull it over it will snap back and break the choke right off. And you have to replace the whole gas tank if you want it fixed.
I ended up melting a toothbrush handle onto the stub left over from the choke handle and put a small screw in it.
