Marcum Ice Troller questions???

    I bought a new Ice troller and used it yesterday for the first time. Not really happ with the way it performed ( or my performance!) I turn it on, put the transducer in the water.It reads 52 ft both in number and also on the depth scale.The Sens is set at 4 and anything higher just increases the thick black lines ( that do not move) If I go higher its a solid black band.I can only find my jig on the way down but the SENS has to be so high, when it gets half way down it goes away.I am going to see if it works better using the Auto Range instead of manual range. I would appreciate any help as I like this unit but wonder if there is something wrong with it or just me.Guess I am spoiled with my other Marcum flasher.Thanks.

    I just loged on to post a question on this unit. I am going to sell one of my lx-5’s but wanted to learn a little more about this unit. I love my 5 but I dont need 2 of them so I was thinking about getting a troller.

    By chance it wasn’t reading 5.2 ft was it? Also make sure the tranducer is not touching the side of the hole and is centered, keeping the bottom of the puck at the bottom of the hole will help also.

    I always start off with the range in auto.

    I would not trade my LX-5 in for the Ice Troller!

    How about $200.00 and Brand new, un used never removed from the package Ice Troller.
