Fishing the Pond in February

I am hoping some of the hard water folks can help me out. After a many years of not hitting the hard water (work, kids, etc…), i am venturing out with two long-time friends to spend a weekend on the Pond. All of us did this as kids with our dads, so we are going to try it later in life. I have couple of questions.

We are looking to rent a sleeper ice house, where should we stay/start? Hoping to catch a few eyes/pout at night, but venture out during the day. We have portables and ATV’s to get around on the lake if needed.

Should we stay on the east or west side?

What time of the month tends to be better?

    Any input is always appreciated

I would recommend giving the guys at Hunter’s point a call. I have not stayed in there sleepers, we typically rent out a cabin, but everything seems to be top notch with these guys.

    Good Luck!

I should have a report up in two weeks. We are going out of hunters with 10 guys in one of their sleepers. Super stoked for it.

For perch and Tulibees the end of the Feb onward is the best. The closer you can get to late ice the better. However, Hunters has their big fishing contest at the end of February, so if you like solitude, avoid that weekend because it gets crazy. But, if a big party is what you want, then you will enjoy it.
