I bought a Showdown from Scheels in Eau Claire back in November. It was a floor model, and it just never worked right. I emailed them with what was wrong and they gave me the shipping options and said I could get a full refund or exchange no questions asked. Well, I happened to have to go to EC anyway, so I just took it to the store with me. I told the girl at the service desk what was wrong, and she called over a guy from fishing. He checked the box/unit to make sure everything was there and said, “Looks good. I’ll go grab a new one.” That was that. They gave me my new unit, and I was on my way in less than five minutes. No long interrogation or accusations of misuse. Thank you Scheels.

They are really good with all of their policies. Stopped in a couple weeks ago and was looking at the cheap HT jig poles for Tip Downs. I had looked online at Fleet Farm prices and they were a dollar less for the same pole. Mentioned it to the salesman and he said no problem we will match it.

Not the cheapest place but great customer service, selection and some good sales if you keep an eye out.

I’ve never had an issue returning/replacing/etc anything for any reason at Scheels. Customer service has always been very good. Golf USA on the other hand…

Last spring I bought a 7’6″ ML spinning rod from them on sale for 50 bucks, half off original price. This fall I broke 3″ off the tip, so I took it in to cash in on the lifetime warranty.

Come to find out they don’t make or have any more of my rod style. Guy goes to talk to the boss, I was thinking well I’ll just take it home and fix it no big deal.

Boss comes up to me points me to the best rod series they have and says which one you want. Shows me a 7′ ML, and begins to sell me on how much better it is, lighter, better graphite, etc. compared to my other one.

I said you had me at hello, 180 dollar rod for my 50 bucks sale rod. I love that store.

I agree, we have one here in Grand Forks ND and the Largest in the world in Fargo. Anyway just brought back a gun to trade in on a new Jiffy Pro 4, they gave me a great price on instore trade and were willing to work with me.
