I’ve got the 9″ Lazer drill bit on it. I was expecting heavier resistance, but it was infact very smooth and effortless. It drilled as fast as the old 8 inch Strikelite blades, maybe faster. The slight increased hole size doesn’t appear as excessive as a 10 inch but it merely only looks slightly bigger than the 8 inche hole.

If anyone else is thinking of drill bit upgrading their Strikelite. It works just fine with the 9 inch Lazer drill bit.

Hi Bob!! Very interesting!! I just picked up 2 Strikemaster augers to utilize the remainder of the season. I picked up the “Strikelite Lazer” and Also electric Lazer!! My SOLO 154 3HP is a workhorse, and I look forward to utilizing the electric in my permanents so I don’t fog myself out!! I also am very excited to get the Strikelite in my hands for Crappie Chasing. A 9 inch hole….Very cool!! There is little question the extra hole size if not requiring much more work can have serious benefits

Just sized down to a 7″. Always an interesting discussion on what size is best. Just carry one of each!

I’ve also been thinking of a 7″ for when I’m in scouting and search mood.

I like the new strikelite this year with the 8″ lazer bit cuts fast and at 23lbs is 3 lbs heavyer than the old bits. It dont slow me down at all. If I need biger holes Ill just bring my LMP 10 along for the trip.

My thoughts exactly, I love my strikelite, it starts almost 2 easy!! I upgraded to the metal bit after haveing the plastics part of the auger disintagrate in 30 inches of ice on LOTW, NOT FUN!!
