But only because I get socks for Christmas.

So I’ve been looking for two “lost” Thorne Brothers rods for a couple months now. Or was it since last spring? I can’t remember. Actually that’s the way it works. If you can remember the exact moment you lost something chances are you can find it pretty easily. Or at least know where to look like in the case of a set of car keys that dropped into an ice hole.

But I digress… so I’ve torn the house and garage apart looking for a 36″ and a 32″ Thorne Brothers Sweetheart rod. Lots of looking. No dice. I even drug Cheryl in on the search since she can find most anything. Nothing.

Not ten minutes ago I looked behind the door to my office and whatcha’ know… there they sit. A little dusty but right where I left them… last year when I got back from Devil’s Lake when I was unpacking I put them behind the door so they wouldn’t get stomped on.

Of course NOW I remember where I put them and why I put them there.

Like I said… better than Christmas.

Next time I stop by, I’ll have to check behind your door and see if Santa left me anything.

Behind doors and in corners is the first place I look…….the wife loves that

Good recovery, thinking you may have had a back up rod or two laying around?

Wish I could find the folding knife that I misplaced. I’ve narrowed it down to an 8 hr window of when I lost it–just can’t find it. Of course it had to be the $100+ knife, not one of my cheapies!

The way my luck and memory goes, I would have went to thorne bummed out that I needed to replace 2 “lost” rods. Then come home only to find them in April or May.

I really need to get organized.

She who must be obeyed and I had been married only a couple of years.
I had learned to play golf the year before we tied the knot and bless her heart she let me continue to play. Around August of our second year of marriage I misplaced my wedding ring.
Did the same thing, tried to think of every place it could be and went there looked there, etc. Prayed to the Patron Saint of Lost Things. Was shear agony, and was getting looks that would turn most men to stone.
This went on till next spring. Was getting ready to hit the links again and gave the golf bag a thorough cleaning. Um, what’s that strange thing at the bottom of the ball compartment? Whew, it’s back
    God Bless, St Anthony!

My own personal christmas will come in May, I’m hoping.

Dropped the keys to my truck in the parking lot @ the Grocery store. I know this because I unlocked the truck, and must have missed my pocket after unlocking.

long story short searched for 45 minutes… Nothing. Walked home Grabbed the spare and a shovel. Just as I walked back the plows had started doing their job. unfortunately they started with the exact route I had to search for my keys.

But Hey I know where they are because like you said I know where I “lost them”.

Hey anyone have a really ambitious kids? I’ll provide the shovel, and hot chocolate.

Nice recovery James.. but you realize the evening out with Cheryle, for putting her through a highly emotional, traumatic experience in dealing with an upset husband, will likely cost you several times what new rods at Thorne’s would have cost you If I remember correctly a nice dinner at Ruth’s with run somewhere around $150 to $200. Oh well…it’ll be a great evening out on the town.

I lost my mind a while back and still haven’t found it.
Maybe I’ll look behind the door.
