Sorry I couldn’t be of any help!

Boo, hoo, hoo! I have no sympathy for you! I am going to be getting out the for the first time the YEAR on Sunday! I have had my vexilar since Nov. 1st. Got it as an early christmas present. I got a new walleye rod for christmas along with a whole ton of spoons, and I have been tying new, or modified, patterns for ice flies that I want to try out! I should also mention that I havn’t even been fishing since the first part of Sept.! That is not for me not trying to find time, but life rolls on. You have some great looking stuff, at lest yours is getting some use. So, in summary, pity party on me and I hope that knowing that there is a guy out there who hasn’t even FISHED in over three months, almost 4, will get your through the hard times! Wow, I feel about ten times better now! Thanks Bret, you really should look at becoming a therapist. I don’t feel angry anymore

Im in the same boat. I got sick on the way home from Lake of the Woods Sunday and now have had to stay off the ice until I feel better. That day can’t come soon enough!

    Brett,

I feel you pain…but, you’re not getting any sympathy…nor will I. I’ve been off the Water (liquid or solid) since November 11 and probably won’t until spring. I had shoulder surgery and I don’t want to mess it up till everything is healed completely. That’s my choice, but I’m BOARDED TO DEATH!

Dang Bret, these guys have no mercy on you.

I’ll help you. Fill the whirlpool about a third of the way up with cold water. Grab a brew, dunk your feet in while sitting on the edge….and have the family dump the ice in ’till knee deep. If you feel a slight chill, take another drink. Don’t forget to park the Marcum on the opposite corner so you can see if anything happens by….BTW – don’t hook your toes for the additional excitement! Hook removal after sobering up sucks.

If I set something up in advance…life is always easier. Know what I mean??? My FW knows about Bret C. I’ve got her fooled to think that you are an ice fishing hero and to be able to grace the same slab of frozen H2O would be akin to bowing at the feet of the Pope.

Go get ’em Bret, I got holes (18 of ’em in 6″ of water over the ice 4″-8″ below the water) punched last Friday, never fished them… Sunday hoping to get out to see if a couple of last years hotspots will still have some fish on ’em!!!

    Bret,

This thread just goes to show that you are truly addicted to ice fishing. I think we should all take this opportunity we have to hold an intervention.

As you know, the only way to truly kick this addiction is to quit cold turkey. Just give me all of your gear and I’ll see that it’s disposed of properly.

This is for your own good.

Kids were complaining last night that they were bored and it was too cold to be outside. So, I fired up the pit and we roasted marsh mellows. Was actually pretty nice standing around the fire in a T-shirt, cracking a sweat, while it was about 12 degrees out. Now, if I could just have a little of that heat keeping my holes from freezing up….

Cool Randy, we use our pit in the winter on good nights also. Fresh air does the body good

Must have fed it a bit too much wood last night….a bed of coals are still going as of noon today. Might have to cook dinner tonight over it.
