Can it be fixed or should it be fixed

I have a 20+ year old Strikemaster Magnum 10 inch auger that the gasoline hose finally got brittle enough and broke. It had a leak btween the gas tank and the hose and I was told that there are no replacement tanks or hoses for it since it is so old. I have already bought a new Lazer Mag Solo 8 inch and have fallen in love with it. I couldn’t get it in 10 inch, so my question is does anyone think the old one is worth fixing for a spare or should I just let my old friend go?

Ace hardware has surgical type tubing in several sizes. Other hardware stores may have it to.
You might also check out a motorcycle or lawn mower repair shop to see if they can help.
If you like it I would try to fix it. Saves money for other goodies.
    Good luck,

Sounds like you don’t need it… dump it. Sell it cheap to some young kid or guy who can’t afford a new one & get yourself a nice Strikemaster hat or gloves or something with the cash… everybodys happy !!!

Sell it in the classifieds and don’t look back. You already have what you need, once sold buy a new 10″ bit for your new one.

For once, I agree with my esteemed friend from Nebraska – what a way to start the new year.

I will take it off your hands and give it a work out, repair, etc.

    Send PM – if interested.

One man’s junk is another man’s treasure! A new auger to fit the new head sounds better than holding on to something someone else could fix up an use happily–share the pleasure.

Repair it yourself and you will get more money for it. Everytime someone tells me it just needs a carb job or a tune up I have to chuckle. If its so easy then why dont you do it then. Ya know what I mean? In my eyes, It does not run, even though it might with the new line/tank.

If my memory is correct that is a special tank/fuel line where the tank does not have a barb to slip the hose on. You have to get creative with epoxy or patching and making a fuel port by installing a barb.

In all honesty, it will fetch a higher price in running condition rather than in repairable condition. Also 99% of the see through “fuel lines” will get hard and brittle. My personal choice is vacuume line. It is not convient and see through but will not break or get brittle, is it really important to see there is fuel in the line?

    Just my opinions-Mark
