I have been using an Old Chicago fillet knife with a wood handle for years that is great for walleye. I picked up a Kershaw with a composite handle this fall that seems fine too. Both have a longish 7.5″ blade.
Would like to find something shorter for the Crappie.
Like the looks and price of the Gerbers, especially with it’s tacky handle but was wondering what you folks use?

Havent used a hand fillet knife for many years after buying my first electric fillet knife. They make filleting a super easy job, especially when you have numbers of smaller fish to do.

I love my electrict but if I must use a hand fillet Knife I use a Leech Lake knife Co they make some of the finest fillet knifes I’ve seen the knives have a double. Cutting edge on top of the tip of the knife for making your gill plate cut saving the knifes edge

I wouldn’t be without my electric knife. My current knife is a Rapala model with either an AC adapter or clamps to go on a 12 volt battery
