Just got 1 man flipover & would like to light an occassional evening bite. For $30 bucks, I would have a work light for the shop or vehicle, as well as lights for the flip-over as needed (currently couple evenings/year). The style I am looking at are rechargeable and come with 12v & 110v plugins, so I could charge up at home, then go cordless for most times needed. On a rare for me night outing, I could tap into my locator’s 12v battery. Picture is just example, exact one to be decided. What do you guys think?

I have used this type of light for several years for ice fishing. Works great. Its also nice to use during packing the house and gear up in the dark. Lots of other uses the rest of the year. Very light weight. Northern Tool often has them on sale for $20.

I have one also, but I think mine only has 24 LEDs. I am pretty sure I that I picked it up at Wal-Mart for 8 or 9 dollars. The main problem with it is that the on off switch is very easy to turn on and mine has turn on during transport, running down the batteries before my next outing.

Clam has one I bought at Fleet this year for 30 bucks exactly like this..What’s nice is it lasts a couple hours on a charge then I can switch it to my Marcum battery with the gator clips included..It’s got the cigarette lighter charger also..I’ve used the UFO lights before and liked them but this has alternative charging methods and no more dead batteries..Fits in my rod holder case nice also or you can leave it on the velco straps provided and leave it on the house..I really like mine.

Thanks for the input guys! Had a GM gift card and went with the one suggested by Steveskoal. It will be shipped to my house at no charge and I like the alligator clips. Everyone had a good perspective, I hope this one pans out. I figure it will be a worklight if nothing else.

The Clam Tube Light ordered from GM arrived on time and I was excited to open the box. Ever so carefully with an Exacto knife, slicing from inside out (like gutting a deer) I opened the heat sealed plastic package at the bottom so that if needbe I could put back in package and return. I pryed open the wide end of the package to remove its contents. Velcro straps, 110 charger, gator clip wires, and lighter adapter wire all came out fine. Now the main event, I pulled on the handle end of the tubelight. It was kind of snug. I pulled a little harder and it came out.

I held it up to look at it kinda like Ralphy looked at his first BB gun in the Christmas Story. There it was in all of its glory. Dangling from the end was the torch-light components like a clown that’s been sprung from a Jack in the Box.

Anyway, I replaced the torchlight contents and retrieved the lens/cover/hook end from deep inside the package. Then used a portable drill to pilot a hole and insert a small screw which holds it just fine. Actually glad it happened prior to use so I could modify at home.

Haven’t used it yet, but overall I like the tubelight setup for me. Minimal shack use, rechargeable, useful for shoplight, camping, bloodtrailing deer, etc. Tightlines, Epick4

Once upon a time, I helped line these lights up for the Outdoor pro Store when I handled all the sales.

They are a quality light with a good warranty and really get the job done.

Never did I see one light come back that was not working.
