HELP OR HURT?

Probably a dumb question, but do you think this rain will help the ice in the long run by melting some of the snow on top of the ice? The lakes I’ve fished have some snow and some frozen slush. It looks a little cooler for next week so maybe by valentines day we can drive out. Just wondering.

I personally think it will help to get the snow off. It might be a mess out there for a couple days but I think things will firm up real nice and travel conditions will be much better.

Probably depends on how much it actually rains. If it penetrates and knocks down the snow it will probably help with the cold weather moving in after. However if it just makes a thin layer ice crust on top that wont help.

My 2 cents. It will help. The snow will at least get wet enough to freeze and then allow the slush to freeze. Wet snow will not insulate like the dry stuff. I think??????

That all depends. It rained here this morning and we are supposed to get 10+ inches through Saturday.
Was going to go to Winnie for the weekend but not sure now.
