I received one as a gift from my SIL and hooked it up to a 12v battery.

It works fine with the 2 D Cells but when hooked to a 12v source the fan

doesn’t have the same speed as with the 2 D’s.

The fan doesn’t spin as fast and also spins faster on low than on high when hooked to 12v.

Called Clam yesterday and they said it could be returned but they couldn’t guarantee a replacement wouldn’t have the same issue. Nice…….

The description of the fan/light on their website doesn’t

even mention the fact that it can be used with 12v with

the included 12v cigarette lighter plug-in.

    web page

    Anyone else experience this?

I got one last season – Not impressed. The light is not all that bright and the fan does not blow near hard enough. It goes thru battries rather fast as well.

2-D’s would be 3 volts so sounds like a bad/no voltage regulator for the 12 volt plug if your getting different things happening on each power source…. After owning a clam house this year and having it break right out of the box and lack of CS on there end im staying away from there products!

Going to get some LED’s to upgrade lighting in my portable. They make some nice strip lighting that could be zip tied to the framework. Just need to protect the wiring, but I am thinking of running the wiring through the tubing…

I wouldn’t touch the poles, they have seemed easy enough for people to bend and break. I would find some outdoor extension cord and use the for my wiring, tough and flexible.

I bought the Clam LED puck style lights with a hook on them. I hang one on each side of the shack and gives off plenty of light. Runs on 3 AAA batteries and is 4.99.

I’d return it if you planned on running it off of 12v.

Definitely lacking a critical component of some sort.

The flux capacitor may need to be calibrated but I
    don’t own that tool.

I agree-POS. The lights don’t always work when the fan is running on mine.
    I’m planning on returning mine.

I bought a cheaper knock off one a couple of weeks ago for $15 at Fleet Farm. Didn’t think it was all that bright, the fan works OK. After readying this, kinda glad I didn’t drop the extra change for the other one.

I bought one and dont hate it… I dont love though either, when I plug mine in with the cord, and turn the fan on the light turns off. Doesn’t happen when using the batteries which sucks cuz i was planning on using the plug more than the batteries. This thread makes me question returning it. They had it marked for $25 and i found a sign in the store for $19.99 from the week before. Still not sure if its worth risking it breaking and not being able to bring it back. It isnt very durable either.
