Ice Ducers

Having misplaced the ice transducer for my M68C I am thinking about using the soft water transducer for now.
Is the main difference the shape of the ducer so it fits into and interferes less with the auger hole?
It offers the same beam choices so am thinking it should work.
    Thanks,
    John

The way it hangs makes the differance. If it will hang vertical you should be ok.

That is right, if it don’t hang so that the bottom of the transducer is level you won’t be able to get readings under your hole. You should be able to make a arm to attach it to and get you through the weekend.

Better yet find the right ducer.

I still have my old F-8 with a “soft water” ducer. Its on a arm on a genz box and works great….you just need to putz with it every once in awhile. Best to glue a bubble level on the top of it. When you set it in the hole, you need to adjust it so the ducer is very level. If not, you’ll mark two bottom lines
