    Guys

I was real curious what the new MarCum cameras would do in stained water found in lakes like Lake of the Woods and Rainy. This past week I got a chance to test out the new 625 SD on Rainy in 18 feet of water… and I was surprised with the results.

MarCum 625SD Video Camera Test – Rainy Lake

Do note the conditions listed that were experienced during this test. I’ll be headed to LOTW next week and I’ll plan to do some comparison tests at different depths and post those here. Who knows… maybe these cameras will work in these challenging environments.

Any 8 GB – Class 4 card will work great and give you a pile of recording time. Wal-mart, Target, Best Buy… they all sell them for around $28 the last I looked. Of course with the way prices fall on electronics they’re likely cheaper by now.

I’ve looked at the Aiptek camera a lot of guys use.Do you see any advantage to a water proof camera I fish a lot of melting and a few rainy days.About $50 more. Thanks Steve

You won’t see a quality advantage. Durability… that’s harder to answer. I use nothing but the aiptek’s for recording and I’ve never had an issue with any of the 4 that I own. We put them through some very rough conditions but they’re certainly not water-proof. I would go so far as to call them quite durable. So this one is “your call.”

HAHA yeah the 30’s will think the camera head is some new invasive species that just came in on one of the ships lol!
No not in the past week and a half, were in a lull right now, but hopefully ill have a different answer for ya at the end of the week!
