    Hello –

I am looking to purchase a pair of ice fishing bibs but I don’t want to spend a lot of money and came across the Vexilar Cold Snap Bibs. They look pretty nice and are on sale at Fleet Farm for $84.99. Anyone have any reviews on them? Also, what size should a person order. I am 5’11”, about 200 pounds. I am thinking an XL. Thanks.

I have the vexilar jacket and bibs and it is OK. I do not like that there is no elastic on the bottom of the legs. This allows snow to pack up in there and can be a problem if I am out all day. As far as wear they have worn nicely. I have had them for 2 years and they are still in good shape. As far as warmth goes it is adequate. I wear long johns and sweat pants and I am plenty warm. The padded knees are nice and I have never had a problem with water either. They have kept me dry fishing in the boat and on the ice.

Size wise. L or XL. Quality wise, I would say they are as good as any. I know the set is nearly identically to the clam suit. I do agree the pant legs need an elastic snow band. I don’t know what other brands have it though. I know the clam suit doesn’t, or at least they didn’t in the past. I had the elastic band sewn in mine. The jacket is awesome. Warm and a million pockets.

I have the suit and it’s as good as any for what weather you will endure. I fished Rainy with Chris in -38 degrees for four days and never felt and wind through the suit on the snowmobiles rides out. Jacket has so many pockets you will lose things. About the elastic bottoms I have yet to see a suit with one unless Snosuit has one, my dad has ice armor X suit and that doesn’t have elastic either and that was purchased last season. You will be happy with the purchase.

Ya, the Snosuit has elastic around the “foot hole” or bottom…just another of their many nice features….even though you pay a mighty price for those features.
