I ordered two walleye sweet hearts yesterday online, about ten min later I got a phone call from chris at Thorne Bros telling me it would be about a two week wait.He took the time to explain the wait and then helped choose the right rods for me . It is very rare these days to find people who care about custumer service or who are willing and knowledgeable enough to help. What an absolute pleasure it was to shop with Thorne bros.

It is also great to have some of the guys from Thorne Brothers as reporters on the site now. Chris Wallace, Matt Johnson, these guys are a wealth of ice fishing information. Looking forward to reading your reports this winter.

For lakers I use the graphite professionals in either 36″ or 42″. I have a 45″ also. Some of the walleye sweethearts in longer lengths are fun also if you like a little bit lighter action rods. The glass rods are a little cheaper and do the job but I feel that don’t have the feel that the graphite does.

Depends on what your doing. Are you mainly fishing outside or in a house? Do you want a spinning or casting rod?

I would certainly look at doing one of our Pro Plus rods. If you get a chance, swing in and we can go over everything.

I prefer to have a longer butt on my laker rods, as I am outside and want something to go up to my elbow so I can really slam them hooks home hard and by kicking the handle out helps me a lot.

Lot of options and the more details you give us, the better we can build a rod around you!

Thanks for the kind words, come on in and say hi. Don’t be afraid to say your screen name either! Just look for the short fat white kid, you can’t miss me! Should get an ido hat to wear….

Thorne has some of the best customer service out there. You just won’t find a better staff to work with in this industry. Enjoy your rods.
